47.) EL USO DE "STILL" = AUN O TODAVÍA

"STILL":  es un adverbio  de tiempo y significa "AUN o TODAVÍA"
Se usa  "STILL" para decir que la acción sigue continuando
Se usa en frases afirmativas y interrogativas
Como es un adverbio, se coloca antes del verbo o detrás del verbo ser/estar
Después de "STILL" el verbo va en gerundio 

Ejemplos frases afirmativas:
-I´m still ill   =  Aun estoy enfermo
-I´m still waiting for the bus     =  Todavía estoy esperando el autobus
-We´re still looking for a small apartment   = Todavía estamos buscando un pequeño piso
-Silvia is still working     =  Silvia aún está trabajando
-Everybody is still eating     = Todos aún estan comiendo
-I´m still at work  = Aun estoy en el trabajo
-The buses are still on strike     = Los autobuses aún estan de huelga
-My old computer still works   = Mi viejo ordenador aún funciona
-My boss is still a pain in the neck   = Mi jefe todavía es un pesado

"STILL" tambien se usa como un adjetivo
Ejemplos:
-I´m going to take a picture, so please stand still  = Voy a hacer una foto, así que estate quieto
-Hold the camera still when you take the picture  = No muevas la cámara cuando hagas la foto
-I like painting still life paintings  = Me gusta pintar cuadros de la naturaleza
-Stay still  =  No te muevas

46). EL USO DE "YET" / "STILL Y NO LONGER"

"YET"  es un adverbio y significa = TODAVÍA / AUN en frases negativas
"YET" en frases interrogativas  significa "YA"

"YET" SE COLOCA AL FINAL DE LA FRASE

Se coloca después de un verbo o un verbo + objeto

Se usa con el verbo en pasado o con el pretérito perfecto compuesto
Recordar que se usa los auxiliares: HAVE / HAS con el "present perfect"

En España y en Inglaterra se usa mucho el "Present perfect" = Pretérito perfecto compuesto 

Ejemplos frases negativas:
AmE: (Ingles Amerciano)
-I didn´t eat yet   = (literalmente -  No comí todavía ) o No he comido todavía (como norma en español)
BrE: (Ingles Británico)  I haven´t eaten yet  = No he comido todavía
-The train hasn´t arrived yet  = El tren no ha llegado todavía
AmE: The train didn´t arrive yet  = El tren no llegó todavía o (no ha llegado)
BrE: I haven´t seen the movie yet   = Aún no he visto la película
AmE: I didn´t see the movie yet  = No vi la película todavía o No he visto la película todavía

También se puede usar "STILL", que también significa "AUN y TODAVÍA en las frases negativas 
    (VER EL TEMA DEL USO DE "STILL"
Ejemplos:
-I still haven´t eaten  = Aun no he comido
-I still haven´t found my car keys  = Todavía no he encontrado las llaves del coche
-I still didn´t have time to go shopping = Aun no tuve tiempo de ir de compras
-She still doesn´t know what she´s going to do = Aun no sabe lo que va a hacer
-The boss still hasn´t said anything about having a meeting  = El jefe aun no ha dicho nada acerca de tener una reunión

"STILL" También se puede usar en frases interrogativas;  USANDO EL VERBO SER/ESTAR + GERUNDIO O DELANTE DE UN ADJETIVO
Ejemplos:
-Are you still waiting for the bus?  = ¿Aún estás esperado el autobús?
-Is you sister still living in Australia?  = ¿Tu hermana todavía está viviendo en Australia?
-Are you still angry with me?  = ¿Aún estás enfadado conmigo?
-Are your friends still coming to the party? = ¿Aún vienen tus amigos a la fiesta?
-Is your mother still sad?  = ¿Tu madre aún está triste?

-Did Susan finish the report yet?  = ¿Ya terminó Susan el informe?  (Ya ha terminado...?)
-Did Luis go to the airport yet?  = ¿Ya se fue Luis al aeropuerto?  (Ya se ha ido Luis...?) 

British English:
-Have you finished the book yet?  = ¿Ya has terminado el libro?
-Have you eaten yet?  = ¿Ya has comido?
-Have you bought a car yet?    =  ¿Ya te has comprado un coche?
-Has Susan finished the report yet?   =  ¿Ya ha terminado Susan el informe?
-Has Luis gone to the airport yet?     =   ¿Ya se ha ido Luis al aeropuerto?


* Hablando y pensando en ingles es mas fácil usar la forma "AmE" en estas construcciónes
  Simplemente usas el auxiliar "Did" + verbo en presente
 Did you understand everything?    = ¿Entendiste todo?
O usar la forma inglesa:
Have you understood everything?  = ¿Has entendido todo?
* Lo mejor es saber usar las dos formas por si acaso y aprender el participio de los verbos


CON EL VERBO SER/ESTAR
Ejemplos:
-Is dinner ready yet?   =  ¿Ya está lista la cena?
-Is she here yet?   = ¿Ya está aquí
-Are the children home yet?  =  ¿Ya están en casa los niños?
-I´m not hungry yet  =  Aún no tengo hambre
-We´re not ready yet  = Aún no estamos listos
-Juan isn´t well yet  =  Juan aún no está bien
-Peter isn´t here yet  =  Peter no está aquí todavía

"YET" también se usa como conjunción y significa "no obstante"
Ejemplos:

"NO LONGER" significa "YA NO" Se coloca en medio de la frase detrás del sujeto o del verbo ser/estar
-Tom no longer works in this company  =  Tom ya no trabaja en esta empresa
-Tracy is no longer married  =  Tracy ya no está casada
-They no longer live here  =  Ya no viven aquí

También se puede usar "ANYMORE" = YA NO pero al final de la frase
Ejemplos:
-Tom doesn´t work in this company anymore  =  Tom ya no trabaja en esta empresa
-Tracy isn´t married anymore   = Tracy ya no está casada
-They don´t live here anymore  = Ya no viven aquí

También se puede usar "ANYMORE" entre un verbo y un objeto (sustantivo)
Ejemplos:
-We don´t have anymore coffee   =  Ya no tenemos mas café
-We don´t need anymore people  =  Ya no necesitamos mas café
-I don´t want anymore wine    =  Ya no quiero mas vino
-There isn´t anymore milk      =  Ya no hay mas leche

En algunos casos de puede usar"NO MORE"dependiendo del verbo y sustantivo que usamos
Significa lo mismo EN MUCHOS CASOS.....pero "No more" es mas coloquial y mas limitado en su uso.
Una cosa es decir. NO TENGO MAS y "YA" NO TENGO MAS
-I have no more questions = No tengo mas preguntas
-I don´t have anymore questions  = Ya no tengo mas preguntas
-There´s no more time = No hay mas tiempo
-There isn´t anymore time  = Ya no hay mas tiempo

*No se puede decir:
*We don´t need "no more" people
Lo correcto es: We don´t need anymore people = Ya no necesitamos mas gente

Para decir "Todavía no"  se dice "Not yet"
Ejemplos:
-Did you find your keys yet?   =  ¿Ya encontraste las llaves? No, not yet
-Are you going to buy a car?   =  ¿Te vas a comprar un coche? No, not yet
-Does your sister have a job?  =  ¿Tu hermana tiene un trabajo? No, not yet
-Has the match started yet?    =  ¿Ya ha empezado el partido?  No, not yet
