Know es el verbo saber y conocer
Meet es el verbo conocer tambien...y allí el dilema....pero el uso de estos verbos es bastante diferente.
Se usa MEET cuando conoces a alguien por primera vez, y de allí la expresión
NICE TO MEET o NICE MEETING YOU o PLEASED TO MEET YOU = ENCANTADO CONOCERTE
No se puede decir NICE TO KNOW YOU
-We are going to meet very important people = Vamos a conocer gente muy importante
-I met my wife at the beach = Conocí a mi mujer en la playa
-Where did you meet your boyfriend = ¿Donde conociste a tu novio?
-By the way. Have you met our new employee? = A proposito. ¿Has conocido a nuestro nuevo empleado?
MEET tambien se usa para reunirse o quedar con alguien o en un sitio o a una cierta hora
-We can meet in the center = Podemos quedar en el centro
-We have to meet this week to check the report = Tenemos que reunirnos esta semana para comprobar el informe
-Let´s meet at five o´clock = Quedamos a las cinco
-Where can we meet? = ¿Donde podemos quedar?
-How about meeting at the bar? = ¿Que te parece quedar en el bar?
-We´ll meet you at the station = Nos vemos en la estación
Como dije antes, KNOW es el verbo conocer y saber
-I know that girl = Conozco a esa chica
-Do I know you from somewhere? = ¿Te conozco de algun sitio?
-Of course you know me! = Desde luego que me conoces
-I´ve known Susan since we were kids = Conozco a Susan desde que eramos niños
-I didn´t know that = No sabia eso
-What are you going to do? I don´t know = ¿Que vas a hacer
-Do you know what you´re doing? = ¿Sabes lo que haces
-We knew that you were working in China = Sabiamos que estabas trabajando en china
KNOW tambien se usa con los pronombres relativos HOW / WHAT / WHO / WHERE / WHOSE / WHY / WHEN + el verbo en infinitivo
-I don´t know how to change a tire = No se como cambiar una rueda
-I wish I knew what to do = Ojala supiera que hacer
-I don´t know who that man is = No se quien es ese hombre
-They don´t know where to go tonight = No saben a donde ir esta noche
-I don´t know whose keys they are = No se de quien son las llaves
-Nobody knows why she got so angry = Nadie sabe porqué se enfadó tanto
