"What did you say? I can´t hear you very well"







Es algo mas confuso cuando se usan estas dos palabras en Inglés que en Español:

"LISTEN" = Escuchar: se usa "cuando alguien tiene que "hacer un mayor esfuerzo para prestar atención" lo que le están diciendo o oyendo".
Además "LISTEN" normalmente va con "TO"
Ejemplos
-Listen to me when I´m talking to you  = Escúchame cuando te estoy hablando
-Be quiet. I want to listen to the news  = Cállate. Quiero escuchar las noticias
-I like listening to the radio when I´m at work  = Me gusta escuchar la radio cuando estoy en el trabajo
-Just listen to her. She´s always bragging about her boyfriend = Mira como habla!. Siempre está presumiendo de su novio
-I´m not a good listener  = No se escuchar muy bien
-I´m sorry. I wasn´t listening to you = Lo siento. No te estaba escuchando
-Listen, how about going out for dinner?  = Oye, que te parece salir a cenar?
-If you listen closely, you can hear the waterfall. = Si escuchas con atención, puedes oír la cascada
-Listen to my pronunciation and tell me if it´s good  = Escucha a mi pronunciación y dime si está bien
-If only I had listened to you, I wouldn´t have been stopped by the police  = Si te hubiera echo caso, no me habría parado la policía

"HEAR" = Oír - Se usa "cuando percibes sonidos y a veces sin prestar mucha atención"

-I heard on the radio that there was a big earthquake in China  = Oí en la radio que hubo un gran terremoto en China
-Hey! I heard you got a promotion. = Oye! He oído que te han dado un ascenso
-I´m sorry, I didn´t hear what you said  = Lo siento, no he oído lo que has dicho
-I didn´t sleep well last night because I heard the baby next door crying all night  = No dormí bien anoche porque oí el bebe de los vecinos llorando toda la noche
-Did you hear any strange noises last night? = ¿Oíste ruidos extraños anoche?
-Did you hear what I said? I´m sorry, I wasn´t listening  = ¿Has oído lo que te he dicho? Lo siento, no te estaba escuchando

-Hear me out before you do something stupid  = Déjame hablar antes de hagas una tontería
