I wonder who doesn´t like to eat chocolate. I love all kinds of chocolate, but dark chocolate is my favorite. People say that dark chocolate can make you feel happy. Well, it makes me feel so good....especially when I eat very dark chocolate.
I also love drinking hot chocolate every now and then in the morning
So, do you think that chocolate is good for your health? Well, I don´t think it´s bad if you eat a few pieces, and not the whole package. And, it´s also a good idea to brush your teeth after eating chocolate in order not to have any cavities and have to make an appointment to see the dentist. Anyway, the rest of this article was written by the author below the text A
number of studies show the benefits of dark chocolate.
Does
that make dark chocolate sound like a superfood?
Maybe
so--especially when you factor in the effect eating dark chocolate can have on
how happy you feel.
Recent research from University
College London studied over 13,000 people and found that individuals who
reported eating any dark chocolate in two 24-hour periods were 70 percent less
likely to report clinically-relevant depressive symptoms than those
who ate no chocolate at all.
Or in
non-research-speak, eating dark chocolate can make you feel happier.
How?
Dark chocolate contains psychoactive ingredients that produce feel-good
results; one is phenylethylamine, a neuromodulator that helps regulate
mood. Plus, dark chocolate contains a higher concentration of antioxidants
that reduce inflammation, a condition linked to the onset of depression.
But
before you reach for a candy bar, keep in mind there's a catch: All
participants ate half an ounce of chocolate per day.
And
there's another catch: If you're watching your weight, even a small amount
of chocolate has a calorie impact.
A
half-ounce of dark chocolate typically contains between 70 and 80
calories, depending on the percentage of cacao solids, the paste that
results from fermenting, roasting, and crushing cocoa beans. The
cacao then gets mixed with other ingredients like milk and sugar to
produce a wide range of chocolates.
While
"dark chocolate" can contain as little as 45 to 50 percent
cacao solids, research shows the
greatest benefits come from dark chocolates containing at least 60 percent
cacao solids.
And
there's one more catch, but this time a good one. Since some dark
chocolates contain as much as 85 percent cacao solids, you might be
tempted to think venturing way over into the dark side will make you even
happier.
Yet the
evidence suggests mood improvements only occur if you enjoy the chocolate
you eat, suggesting the experience of eating the chocolate is a
factor as well.
Sure,
the chemical ingredients can make an impact. But so can the taste.
All of
which means the relationship between dark chocolate and mood may be more
correlated than causal. As the researchers say:
This study provides some evidence that consumption of
chocolate, particularly dark chocolate, may be associated with reduced odds of
clinically relevant depressive symptoms.
However, further research is required to clarify the direction
of causation--it could be the case that depression causes people to lose their
interest in eating chocolate, or there could be other factors that make people
both less likely to eat dark chocolate and to be depressed.
But
then again, past studies found that consuming chocolate may
help improve your mood and make
you feel calmer and more content, partly because dark chocolate stimulates
the production of endorphins, the chemicals in the brain that create
feelings of pleasure. And dark chocolate also contains serotonin, an
antidepressant that can elevate mood.

The problem with Spain today and
for a very long time is that Spain has never really been United as a country
and people don´t seem to feel very proud of their great country. In my opinion, Spain is one of the greatest countries in the world, and its rich history proves it.
Spaniards speak the same language. Spanish people are friendly. It´s a
beautiful country and it has the best food in the world...so where´s problem?
The most important reason is
because the Spanish national anthem doesn´t have any words, only music.
How
can Spaniards express their feelings and their sorrows? They need to sing their national anthem like other countries in the world?
How
can they be proud, be patriotic and feel hope of their country if they can´t sing it?
THIS
IS AND HAS BEEN THE PROBLEM IN SPAIN FOR A VERY LONG TIME
The U.S.A. National Anthem has words
and Americans love to sing it before a football, baseball game, a basketball
game or any other important events.
IT
UNITES PEOPLE and they feel patriotic and they love their country.
It gives the people everything they need to be happy.
On the other hand, Cataluña also has
their own National anthem aside from the the Spanish national anthem......but
the difference is that the Catalan anthem HAS WORDS.
People
can sing it and it makes them more patriotic, and it unites people.
This is one important reason why there has always been a barrier between Cataluña and the rest of Spain. People
love to sing because it makes them feel better. It´s more natural to sing than
talk so much.
Therefore,
this makes the Catalan people feel prouder and more patriotic....which is very important.
Perhaps, this can be a very important reason why there has always been conflicts in Spain. A lot of Spaniards perhaps don´t feel so united and proud of their country.
It´s
obvious, put words to the Spanish National Anthem so people can sing and feel
good, happy and proud of being Spanish...and it doesn´t matter what part of
Spain people are from.
The beautiful country of Galicia also has their anthem
He vuelto.
TRANSLATION I´m back. I´ve been doing a lot of things and I didn´t have time to sit down and make an exercise for those who like to translate as another way to learn the use of English It was very hot this summer and I didn´t feel like doing many things. At the moment, I´m having breakfast while I´m doing this exercise. It´s very windy today, but not as much as yesterday. At least it´s sunny. Oh my God! It´s already November, and in no time time at all....Christmas. How time flies! I hope Christmas brings love and peace to all the world. The problem is that there are always wars and deaths almost everyday. It alsoseems that there are always conflicts among people. Why can´t people simply just be happy and enjoy life? As I live in Spain, I see that there a lot of serious problems in Cataluña as well. Half the people want to be independent from Spain and the other half don´t want to. In the end, I have no idea what´s going to happen. All I know is that what I saw on television a few weeks ago, it seemed that Barcelona was in war. It also seems that the British people don´t know what to do with their lives either. Anyway, I don´t think they´ve ever felt very European. Of course, the big reason for so many conflicts in the world,........are politicians. How about Global warming? I sometimes ask myself if people would realize that Earth has a very serious problem, and one day it will be too late to do anything. Instead of so many absurdconflicts among people in Spain and the rest of the world, we should learn to live in peace and save our planet together and united. . Well, it´s already a quarter to eleven and I´m going to translate the text into English. As you can see, I use expressions and the different verb tenses. It might be a little difficult, but that´s the way to learn more. Do what you can and have fun.
A man was lost in the desert...and sooner or later he was going to die of thirst. But as he walking, he saw an old broken down cabin which had an old rusted water pump.
He began to pump without stopping, but nothing came out. Then he saw that there was a glass bottle of water with a message next to the water pump. "Pour the contents of the bottle into the pump to make it work. Later fill the bottle and leave it in the same place. At first the man doubted what to do because it just didn´t make any sense. "How can water come out?" But of course, if he didn´t do what the message said, he would die of thirst. In the end, he poured the water of the bottle into the pump. In the beginning no water came out. He was worried that he would have to drink the liquid in the bottle and he really wasn´t sure what effect it would have on him and make him sick. But after pumping about a minute, suddenly cold clear fresh water was coming out in abundance. The man could drink as much as he wanted...and he could even pour water on his head and all over his body until he was compeletly refreshed. Before leaving, he filled the bottle with water for the next traveler. But he also added a new message to the bottle: "Take my advice. It really works!" This story teaches us that good opportunities don´t come very often. But when they do come, people tend to have doubts. Our insecurities can make us indecisive. We wait too long to make a decision...and then it´s too late. If we learn to overcome our fears, then we are free to do whatever we want in life. Como veis.La expresion "sooner or later" es al revés en español: "tarde o temprano". No se puede decir "later or sooner"...jajajaja. Tambien hay "phrasal verbs" que hay que aprender si quieres mejorar tu ingles...porque hay muchos. Y claro: "In the end" = al final Y hay que saber usar "In the end"...y "At the end". Es facil, Estoy seguro que hay un tema sobre esto And remember: "Reach for the stars" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWjqxBY0R1E
We often call the result global warming, but it is causing a set of changes to the Earth's climate, or long-term weather patterns, that varies from place to place. While many people think of global warming and climate change as synonyms, scientists use “climate change” when describing the complex shifts now affecting our planet’s weather and climate systems—in part because some areas actually get cooler in the short term.
Climate change encompasses not only rising average temperatures but also extreme weather events, shifting wildlife populations and habitats, rising seas, and a range of other impacts. All of those changes are emerging as humans continue to add heat-trapping greenhouse gases to the atmosphere, changing the rhythms of climate that all living things have come to rely on.
What will we do—what can we do—to slow this human-caused warming? How will we cope with the changes we've already set into motion? While we struggle to figure it all out, the fate of the Earth as we know it—coasts, forests, farms, and snow-capped mountains—hangs in the balance.

Understanding the greenhouse effect
The "greenhouse effect" is the warming that happens when certain gases in Earth's atmosphere trap heat. These gases let in light but keep heat from escaping, like the glass walls of a greenhouse, hence the name.
Why shark attacks are more common in the Atlantic than the Pacific
Sunlight shines onto the Earth's surface, where the energy is absorbed and then radiate back into the atmosphere as heat. In the atmosphere, greenhouse gas molecules trap some of the heat, and the rest escapes into space. The more greenhouse gases concentrate in the atmosphere, the more heat gets locked up in the molecules.
Scientists have known about the greenhouse effect since 1824, when Joseph Fourier calculated that the Earth would be much colder if it had no atmosphere. This natural greenhouse effect is what keeps the Earth's climate livable. Without it, the Earth's surface would be an average of about 60 degrees Fahrenheit (33 degrees Celsius) cooler.
In 1895, the Swedish chemist Svante Arrhenius discovered that humans could enhance the greenhouse effect by making carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas. He kicked off 100 years of climate research that has given us a sophisticated understanding of global warming.
Levels of greenhouse gases have gone up and down over the Earth's history, but they had been fairly constant for the past few thousand years. Global average temperatures had also stayed fairly constant over that time—until the past 150 years. Through the burning of fossil fuels and other activities that have emitted large amounts of greenhouse gases, particularly over the past few decades, humans are now enhancing the greenhouse effect and warming Earth significantly, and in ways that promise many effects, scientists warn.
Aren't temperature changes natural?
Human activity isn't the only factor that affects Earth's climate. Volcanic eruptions and variations in solar radiation from sunspots, solar wind, and the Earth's position relative to the sun also play a role. So do large-scale weather patterns such as El Niño.
The short timescale of this recent warming is singular as well. Volcanic eruptions, for example, emit particles that temporarily cool the Earth's surface. But their effect lasts just a few years. Events like El Niño also work on fairly short and predictable cycles. On the other hand, the types of global temperature fluctuations that have contributed to ice ages occur on a cycle of hundreds of thousands of years.
For thousands of years now, emissions of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere have been balanced out by greenhouse gases that are naturally absorbed. As a result, greenhouse gas concentrations and temperatures have been fairly stable, which has allowed human civilization to flourish within a consistent climate.
Greenland is covered with a vast amount of ice—but the ice is melting four times faster than thought, suggesting that Greenland may be approaching a dangerous tipping point, with implications for global sea-level rise.
PHOTOGRAPH BY MICHAEL MELFORD, NAT GEO IMAGE COLLECTION
Now, humans have increased the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere by more than a third since the Industrial Revolution. Changes that have historically taken thousands of years are now happening over the course of decades.
Why does this matter?
The rapid rise in greenhouse gases is a problem because it’s changing the climate faster than some living things can adapt to. Also, a new and more unpredictable climate poses unique challenges to all life.
Historically, Earth's climate has regularly shifted between temperatures like those we see today and temperatures cold enough to cover much of North America and Europe with ice. The difference between average global temperatures today and during those ice ages is only about 9 degrees Fahrenheit (5 degrees Celsius), and the swings have tended to happen slowly, over hundreds of thousands of years.
As the mercury rises, the climate can change in unexpected ways. In addition to sea levels rising, weather can become more extreme. This means more intense major storms, more rain followed by longer and drier droughts—a challenge for growing crops—changes in the ranges in which plants and animals can live, and loss of water supplies that have historically come from glaciers.
