376. EATING NUTS

Eating a "handful" of nuts a day can keep the doctor away, research proves
People consuming at least 20 grams of nuts daily less likely to develop potentially fatal conditions such as heart disease and cancer, according to a study.
A handful of nuts a day can help to keep the doctor - and the undertaker - away, research has shown.

People consuming at least 20 grams of nuts daily were less likely to develop potentially fatal conditions such as heart disease and cancer, the study found.

Being "nuts about nuts" reduced the risk of heart disease by nearly 30%, the risk of cancer by 15%, and the risk of premature death by 22%.

The same amount of nuts - equivalent to a handful - was also associated with a halving of the risk of dying from a respiratory disease. Diabetes risk was cut by nearly 40%.
Study co-author Dagfinn Aune, from Imperial College London, said: “In nutritional studies, so far much of the research has been on the big killers such as heart diseases, stroke and cancer, but now we're starting to see data for other diseases.
“We found a consistent reduction in risk across many different diseases, which is a strong indication that there is a real underlying relationship between nut consumption and different health outcomes. It's quite a substantial effect for such a small amount of food.”
The team, whose findings appear in the journal BMC Medicine, analysed published data on more than 800,000 participants from around the world.
The study covered all kinds of tree nuts, such as hazelnuts and walnuts, as well as peanuts, which are technically legumes.
Mr Aune added: “Nuts and peanuts are high in fibre, magnesium, and polyunsaturated fats - nutrients that are beneficial for cutting cardiovascular disease risk and which can reduce cholesterol levels.
“Some nuts, particularly walnuts and pecan nuts, are also high in antioxidants, which can fight oxidative stress and possibly reduce cancer risk.

Even though nuts are quite high in fat, they are also high in fibre and protein, and there is some evidence that suggests nuts might actually reduce your risk of obesity over time.”

374. SAMED´S DESIRES IN LIFE

A young man called Samed went to see the village wise man to ask him what he should do to achieve certain things in life.
The wise man simply looked at him but didn´t answer him.

The young man went to see the old man many times, but the wise man was still silent and didn´t say a word.

However, one day the wise man said: "Come with me".
They went to a nearby river and the man went into the water with Samed.
When they reached where the water was deeper, the man held Samed by the shoulders and the young man sank deeply into the water.
Although Samed was trying with all his might to come to the surface, the old man kept him underwater a few minutes more, until finally the old man let Samed loose.

Samed´s head came out to the surface and he quickly began to take deep breaths and fill his lungs with precious air.
The wise man then asked Samed: "when you were underwater, what was the only thing you desired the most"?
"Air, I just wanted air", said Samed".

"Didn´t you desire riches, great pleasures, power, money or love when you were underwater", the old man asked the young boy.
"No, I only wanted one thing....AIR", Samed said.

The old man then said, "remember the intensity of your desire to come out of the water to get AIR; because in order to reach your true objective in life, you must want it with the same intensity as when you desired AIR.
"Search deep down inside of you to find what you really want in life"

Furthermore, it must be your only wish night and day.
Now you realize that precious AIR is the only thing which will keep you alive
and not only thinking about how much money and materialistic things you will buy. Without AIR, you will die very quickly.

If you have a deep realistic desire for something, put all your energy into it, and I promise you that you will achieve what you want in life without any doubt,", the wise old man said to Samed.

373. LET THERE BE LOVE

So many people have dogs. They are like children for us, and therefore we love them so much.

Let there be love

Also, it´s healthy for people to have a dog beacuse you have to take out your dog for long walks. You can go to the beach, take him or her to the mountains or simply walking in a park or in the street.

If there´s a dog in a family, everyone is happy and children will grow up to be better persons.
For people who live alone, doctors recommend to have a dog to cheer you up because a dog will give you good vibrations and not make you feel so lonely.
When you come home after a long day at work, your dog will come running to you and make you feel better and happier. Your dog will also help you get rid of your stress and reduce your cholesterol.

But the question is: Why do people love their dogs so much?
Well, it´s because when you and your dog look at each other´s eyes, both of you get a boost of the feel good hormone called oxytocin.
Oxytocin is a powerful hormone and acts as a neurotransmitter in the brain.

When we hug or kiss a loved one, a lot of oxytocin is produced.
This is the same hormone which causes the special bond between parents and their babies, having sex and breastfeeding.
When you and you dog look into each other´s eyes, the oxytocin level in dogs goes up to 130 percent, and in humans, oxytocin levels increases up to 300 percent.

So, if you want your dog to look at your eyes, you must do the following:
Of course, first you must teach your dog to sit.
Give your dog a prize when he or she has done something correctly, like not peeing on the floor, but peeing outside in the park.
First, tell your dog to “SIT”
Then show your dog the prize and let him smell it.
Extend your arms to your sides with the prize in one of your hands.
This will make your dog look at your hand in the beginning, but in the end, your dog will focus on your face and finally on your eyes.
Both of you will get a boost of oxytocin and feel great.

There are so many dogs who are looking for a home. There are a lot of organizations which can help you find the right dog for you.

So, come on people....adopt a dog and feel real love.
It´s obvious that people love their dogs because dogs only know how to love people.
Let there be love be happy

372. THE NEEDLE

One afternoon, the people of the village saw Rabiya looking for something in the street in front of her hut.

They went to her and asked what she was looking for.
And she answered, “I lost my needle”.

Therefore, all the village wanted to help her find the object.
After a while, somebody told her: “Rabiya, this street is very long and wide and the needle is very tiny. Do you have any idea where the needle fell”?
The old woman answered: “Inside my house”.
Everyone looked at each other very surprised and said, “Then why are looking for the needle outside in the street?”
Rabiya looked at them and answered: “Because out in the street there is a lot of light, but in my hut it´s dark”.
Her neighbors thought she had lost her marbles and told her she should look for the needle in her hut.
Then suddenly Rabiya exclaimed: “ You are you all so intelligent to solve little trivial things!”
“When are you going to use that same capacity for your inner self”?
Then Rabiya spoke about her profound unhappiness and her habit of hiding it under external things: “Why do you look for happiness in the external world?
“What have you lost there?
From my own experience, I know that happiness is found inside every person.
Just like the needle we are looking for…...which is...... inside my home”
