49.) EL USO DE "SEE" Y "WATCH" = VER Y MIRAR

A veces a cierta confusión con "SEE y WATCH"
"SEE" = VER
Se suele usar "SEE" para ver algo en general; "sin tanta intención" de ver algo en ese momento o algo que se te cruza por la vista en un momento dado

Ejemplos:
-I can see the whole city from the top of this mountain  = Puedo ver toda la ciudad desde la cima de esta montaña
-It´s so dark in here that I can´t see a thing  = Está tan oscuro aquí dentro que no veo nada
-Did you see the falling star?  = ¿Has visto la estrella fugaz?
-We haven´t seen Susan since last year  =  No hemos visto a Susan desde el año pasado
-I didn´t see Luis in his office this morning   =  No vi a Luis en su despacho esta mañana
-Look. I can see the boats with my binoculars  =  Mira. Puedo ver los barcos con mis prismáticos
-Do you want to see a movie tonight?  =  ¿Quieres ver una película esta noche?
-When can I see you again?   =  ¿Cuando puedo verte de nuevo?
-You should see a dentist  =  Deberiás ver a un dentista
-We didn´t see anything  =  No vimos nada
-*Do you feel like seeing a basketball game on Sunday  = ¿Te apetece ver un partido de baloncesto el Domingo
-No, I feel like seeing a movie  = No, me apetece ver una peli
* Recordar con la expresión "feel like", el verbo va en gerundio

"WATCH" significa: VER / OBSERVAR / MIRAR / VIGILAR
Se suele usar para ver algo mas detalladamente porque se está moviendo
Ejemplos:
-Watch me jump this bench =  Mirame saltar este banco
-We are watching a really good movie   =  Estamos viendo una película muy buena
-I like to watch people walking in the street  =  Me gusta ver la gente andando por la calle
-The boss is watching us  =  El jefe nos está vigilando
-Watch the road while you´re driving  =  Mira la carretera mientras conduces
-Watch the basketball game and stop talking  =  Mira el partido de baloncesto y deja de hablar
-Watch how I do it  =  Observa como lo hago
-A lot of people are at the beach watching the kite exhibition  =  Mucha gente está en la playa viendo la exhibición de cometas


"WATCH" también se usa como sustantivo
Ejemplos:
-Can you keep watch over the children until I get back  =  Puedes vigilar a los niños hasta que vuelva
-I have the night watch  =  Tengo el turno de noche
-Keep a close watch on them  =  Vigilárles bien
-We have to be on the watch for anything unusual  =  Tenemos que estar atentos por cualquier cosa extraña
